Oh, the dreaded fashion figure. I have completed two, 10 week courses in sketching, and learning the correct proportions and how to sketch and draw the fashion figure. The fashion figure is used with creating garments to show how they will fall or drape on a person, and how they may present themselves. In a sense, you are selling your product(s) through the sketches on drawn people--or runway models/fashion figures. I enjoy the end part of it coming together, when I can play with the face and expression and art direction of it all---making it a creative story where you can both see the garments, but also the story going on behind it.
I am still learning and growing, as sketch has been a challenge for me, but am learning quickly. It has been fun. Literally, hours...of fun!
